DAY 01: ARRIVAL YANGON – HALF-DAY CITY SIGHTSEEING [-/-/D]
Our tour guide will meet you up at Yangon International Airport and transfer to the hotel in Yangon. Start to visit the National Museum (closed on Mondays & holidays) where you can explore the history and culture of Myanmar. Then visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (closed Mondays & holidays) which displays a huge collection of Myanmar handicraft and souvenir. Proceed to the Golden Pagoda in the evening to enjoy the sunset and explore the unique culture, and traditions of the local people. Then enjoy a delicious dinner at Myanmar Plaza. Overnight at the hotel in Yangon.
DAY 02: YANGON – THAN LYIN – YANGON [B/D/-]
After breakfast at the hotel, drive out from the hotel for half an hour to visit the National Races Village. Explore traditional and cultural exhibits of the 8 major ethnic groups of Myanmar namely Kachin, Kayah, Karen, Chin, Bamar. Mon, Rakhine, and Shan, etc. Then continue to Than Lyin and visit ancient Old Portuguese Church, built in the 18th Century and now the church is in ruin but the walls are still intact. Continue to visit Yele (the middle of the water) Pagoda of the river on a small island. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then visit Kyaik Kauk Pagoda, a famous ancient pagoda on a hillock on the way back to Yangon. Upon arrival, you will join Yangon Sunset River Cruise and discover the primitive beauty along the banks as the sun gently sinks below the horizon of Yangon. Transfer back to the hotel and overnight at the hotel in Yangon.
DAY 03: YANGON – MYITKYINA [B/L/D]
After early breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to Yangon Airport for morning flight to Myitkyina. You will pick up at the airport and transfer to check in at the hotel in Myitkyina. Then drive out for about 45 minutes to Mali-Nmai-Zup (Myitsone), the confluence of Mali and Nmai Rivers, which is the starting point of the Aryewaddy River, the lifeline of Myanmar. Upon arrival, you will see the local restaurants and the rocky beach on the white sand on the riversides when you walk down to the river. You would enjoy walking over pebbles; the rounded water tempered smooth Malihka Stones along the riverside which can be pleasant and beneficial for self-reflexology pressure on the pebbles. Then enjoy riding a small boat across the smooth flow of Malika River and a bit rough N-Maihka River for half an hour. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. On the way back, visit Centennial Tower and Centennial Prayer Mountain called Jaw Bum which is situated near the Kachin Theological College & Seminary, Nawng Nang, and Karing Naw View Point. Enjoy dinner at a Kachin traditional restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Myitkyina.
DAY 04: MYITKYINA – KACHIN TRADITIONAL MANAU FESTIVAL, SHATAPRU [B/L/D]
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to the Shatapru Manau Compound, located a 10 minutes’ drive in the north from the downtown area. Take part in the Manau Festival, which is held to celebrate the unity and identity of the Kachin races that mostly takes place in December and January. You will find the venue for the festival specially arranged and colorful decorations. First, explore the plenty of Kachin cultural artifacts those displayed in the showrooms. Then enjoy the beauty of Kachin Traditional “Manau Dance”, which is performed by two groups with two persons leading each group. Behind the leaders come the members of each clan, Azi, Maru, Lashi, Lisu, Nung, Rawang, and Jinghpaw in full ceremonial national dress. All those following behind have to watch the leaders and follow their dance step and change steps accordingly. When all the dance steps have been completed, the guests and anyone who wishes to are invited to join in the dance”. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Myitkyina.
DAY 05: MYITKYINA – INDAWGYI LAKE [B/L/D]
Enjoy early breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Indawgyi Lake, located at about a 100 miles in the Southwest of Myitkyina. Along the way, enjoy passing the scenic forest and the beautiful remote towns of Namti, Mogaung, and Hopin on the Mandalay –Myitkyina railway line. Stop for lunch at Hopin a while and continue to Indawgyi Lake. Upon arrival, check in at the guesthouse and commence a boat trip to Shwe Myitzu Pagoda located in the middle of the lake. Enjoy watching the bird and feeding them riding the boat. Overnight at the guest house beside the lake.
DAY 06: INDAWGYI LAKE – MYITKYINA [B/L/D]
After breakfast, proceed to half day sightseeing at Indawgyi area. Visit the Golden Mountain at the north of the lake which has a monastery and pagoda on top and enjoys the natural view of Indawgyi Lake. Lunch will be served at a local family in Lone Tung Village arranged by our tour guide. Then, return back to Myitkyina in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner at a Chinese restaurant and overnight in Myitkyina.
DAY 07: MYITKYINA – YANGON [B/L/D]
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning. Then have leisure or go out shopping at Myitkyina Market till noon. Then you will transfer to Myitkyina airport for the afternoon flight to Yangon. Arrive in Yangon and enjoy your free time until your international flight departure back home. End of the service!
